Photoshop pratice cover

Today I made a cover in photoshop and i have learnt how to add text, an image, how to transform an image if we wanted to make bigger or smaller. Also, i've learnt how to undo, if wanted to remove or correct it if necessary or any reason or purpose and the basics of how to use different buttons and etc.

College magazine content page

Within the college magazine page contains information such as the colleges fashion,trends, tips of how to help students do well in their studies such as revision sessions and how to help students study more efficiently. Also, music magazine don't contain any information to do with the next step after college e.g. universities. It contains more to do with the company promoting the music and getting more people to listen to it. While, college magazines give more information and dates of upcoming events,competitions,clubs, activities and etc happening within the college.

List of information which should be included in the magazine
Close up quote- This is going to be placed towards the left side of the image of the cover star placed at her eye level.
Pull up quote- This is going to be placed on the right side of the cover star at the level of her hands.
Outline of what is happening
Masthead- Is going to be at the top of the page
Sky line- free text books and pens at the beginning of the academic year for all students
The magazines company's name
The magazine is going to contain information about what is happening at the college. For example, the latest trips and outings,out of school hours activities,conferences/work experience to attend to, the latest gossip of what is happening inside and within the college. Also, this magazine is going to feature more about how the students can get extra help within their studies. For example, attending extra interventions/revision classes for when it comes near for exams. Furthermore, this magazine is going to include more about the students life and it will mention what students want e.g. a bigger football pitch. This magazine will contain more voices from all different type of students. As, this magazine is more aimed at the students of the college.

Analysis of a college magazine cover page

The college magazine and music magazine is the same by having a title, the fact that there is a consistent colour scheme and font to make it look easier for the reader. Also, to show that it looks in a good format. Another element between a college magazine and a music magazine is it is usually shot at medium angles. A difference between college magazine and music magazine is college magazines mention more elements to do with the latest gossips/events/trips and etc. While music magazines contain more information that is to do with more about music. For example, when the next artist or band have a concert,new album,new single and etc. In college magazines the cover star is usually smiling(looking happy), in music magazines the cover star is usually looking normal with a straight face. Or looking very glum and not so happy. In addition, another difference between college magazines and music magazines is college magazines is to do more with education and helping students to do well in all the subjects. Meanwhile, music magazines is to do with more about telling everyone more about music and letting everyone know more information about the artist. Music magazines allows the company to promote the artist. But college magazines mainly care about the students knowing more of what is happening within the college and how the students want the college to be better e.g. have a larger dining room. College magazines mention more important issues such as smoking and many more. To make the students more aware of the social and political issues not only happening within their area but also what is happening within the country. In addition, you can tell by the context of the front page.

Today's AS Media lesson

In today's AS Media lesson we were looking at magazines which we would want to use e.g. the genre of the music magazine we have chosen. This allows us to analysis and identify the features that should be included inside the double page spread,content and cover page. This is features like the artists upcoming concerts,tours,songs and etc. It should also be aimed at the target audience. The contents need to be relevant and for advertising. It should also have similar artists relating to the same type of genre. It is aimed at trying to persuade more people to purchase/read magazines more often instead of searching the most accessible thing which is to search the world wide web which everyone used to search up more information and knowledge about the type of music which is accessible.

Analysis

Within the cover page there is an QR code/barcode/price. Also, an sky line is used to show what type of music would be included in this magazine. Quote is used to show how it would attract the younger audience. There is a consistency in font and colours which are used in the cover page. The front page would tell us what would be in the magazine.

Writing about the features in this front page

In today's lesson we have been discussing what type of features are on the front cover of this magazine. Which included the features such as cover line,font consistency,cover star(main image),barcode/QR/Website and etc. We had to check if each one of those features where there and if they were we had to explain what it contributed to the front page. Also, what we could say about that feature. The use of this activity helped allowed us to make sure that we have all these features when we create the front page of the magazine.
